Design and Dimensions:
Once again Apple did exactly what it had already done with the iPhone 4S. The New iPad has no design changes whatsoever. It looks exactly like the iPad 2. No new colors have been announced. There is a slight difference in dimensions however. Depth on the new iPad is 9.4mm as opposed to 8.9mm on iPad 2. The New iPad weighs in at 1.4lbs while the iPad 2 weighs in at 1.33 pounds. These slight differences are present due to bigger and better internal components.
Price:
Much to everyone’s relief, Apple has decided to retain previous price points of the iPad. The new iPad price of all models is as follows:
16GB WiFi: $499 , 16GB WiFi + 4G: $629

32GB WiFi: $599 , 32GB WiFi + 4G: $729

64GB WiFi: $699 , 64GB WiFi + 4G: $829
Specifications:
This is where the new iPad really excels. Apple has put in the A5X processor which provides quadcore graphics. A gorgeous Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 resolution and 3.1 million pixels at 264 ppi. An iSight camera with 5 megapixels, autofocus, tap to focus, face detection in still images, full 1080p HD video recording at 30 frames per second and video stabilization. Support for 4G LTE networks is also provided. With all of this amazing technology on board, Apple has made an effort to make sure that battery life is not compromised. The first iPad offered 10 hours battery life. The iPad 2 offered 10 hours battery life. The new iPad also offers 10 hours of battery life.
Features:
The New iPad comes stock with iOS 5.1 firmware. This firmware is the first major update to iOS 5.0 ever since it was initially made available for public in October 2011. iOS 5.1 brings a host of new features as well as improvements to the overall iOS platform. Apart from that, all stock iPad applications have been re-done and they are now better than before. The iWork suite for iPad which comprises of Keynote, Pages and Numbers app has been updated. iMovie and GarageBand have also been updated. Apple has added iPhoto for iPad to the iLife suite as well. iPhoto app provides easy photo editing and coupled with the amazing processing power of the iPad, it makes managing and editing photos on the fly, a breeze.
Availability:
