Anyone looking for an entertainment laptop, may like to take a look at the latest offering from Lenovo, it’s the fourteen inch
IdeaPad Y480 and it comes with a wide range of options and upgrades, so the starting price of $900 is just what it says, the start!
Lenovo are good at offering what people want, you can effectively take the base model and for price build your own specific machine, which is fine but when the final price appears on the screen it has to be said that most buyers are likely to be shocked and will revise the order.
This entertainment laptop from Lenovo only has a 14 inch high definition display with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions and there is an integrated 720p HD web camera for crisp face to face communications. It will be powered by a choice 2nd generation Ivy Bridge chips such as the Intel Core i7, while graphics has the NVIDIA GeForce GT650M or GTX660M graphics card with support for the latest DirectX feature. There will be choice of up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and a choice of up to 1 TB of hard disk drive (HDD) for storage purposes.
Being an entertainment laptop there is the Blu-ray Disc player & writer that supports the OneKey Theater 2.0: one-touch audio-visual optimization and there is the Dolby Home Theater v4 for full sound through the premium JBL speaker system. Surprisingly this laptop has a starting weight of just 4.9 pounds with the 6-cell battery installed that Lenovo say is good for up to five hours of operating time while running the Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y480 is due on sale anytime soon; it is already up for pre-order order with some retailers with the price starting at $900.
