Compact gaming with the Maingear Pulse 11:
The Maingear Pulse 11 is a neat gaming laptop that consumers might get to see a lot of, but not necessarily as the Maingear Pulse 11! This may seem strange but this 11 inch gaming machine is made by the Taiwan based Clevo, so expect to see this machine re-badged as either an Origin, Eurocom, Mythlogic or the XoticPC at some time.

This is early days for this laptop and as such, there is not too much information around on it. But what we do know is that the Maingear Pulse 11 will come with an 11.6 inch high definition display with LED backlighting that has a 1366 × 768 of pixel resolution and there is also a built in web camera in the frame. It will be powered by an Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor although there is no word on which version or clock speed. Graphics will be provided by the highly capable NVIDIA GeForce GT650M with 2 GB of memory.

The base model will offer 8 GB of RAM but the buyer can go up to 16 GB if required. There does not seem to be any options on storage with a 320 GB hard disk drive (HDD) looking like the only option available. Other features will include that essential HDMI out 1.4a, superfast USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and there is the THX TruStudio Pro sound for some serious gaming sound effects.

This is a smart looking gamer’s machine that measures just one and half inches thick and weighs in at around four pounds with the six cell battery in place that Maingear say will offer the user up to six hours of power, although we think they do not mean six hours of gaming.
The Maingear Pulse 11 will be available from early June with a starting price of around $1,100
