Samsung Updates The NC110 With Cedar Trail:
The good news is that Samsung have updated the NC110 netbook from using an Intel Atom N455 single core processor to an Atom N2600 dual core chip, which is clearly more powerful. The bad news is that Samsung have released a new netbook in the US or Europe for some time and even with this update Samsung has no immediate plans to launch it anywhere else other that its home market of Japan, which is a little disappointing as the NC110 is a nice entry level machine for this competitive marketplace.

The updated NC11o offers a neat 10.1 inch WSVGA LED back light LCD widescreen display with a 1024 x 600 of pixel resolutions and there is room for a 3.0 mega pixel integrated web camera. It is powered by the latest cedar trail version of the Intel ATOM Processor N2600 with 1.6 GHz, 800 MHz, 2 x 512 KB supporting the Intel NM10 chipset and with the Intel GMA3600 graphics card.

Memory is a reasonable 2 GB of DDR3 RAM 1066 MHz and the same goes for the storage there is a 320 GB 5,400 rpm hard disk drive available. For networking there is the 10/100M wired Ethernet, 802.11 bgn wireless LAN and there is Bluetooth 3.0 for connecting to local devices.

Other features include the three standard USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, VGA and there is the standard four into one card reader that supports SD, SDHC, SDXC and MMC. The measurements of this netbook are 259 mm (W) x 179.5 mm (D) x 21.5 mm to 33.7 mm (H) and it weighs in at a manageable 1.18 kilos even with the standard 6 cell lithium battery installed that Samsung say will be good for up to ten hours power.
There are no prices for newly updated Samsung NC110 as it is not currently available outside of Japan.
