Samsung is gearing up for it’s biggest product release of 2012, the Galaxy S III due to be unveiled in London on May the 3rd. Android fans around the world are no doubt waiting to see what Samsung has hidden up it’s sleeves. There have been countless rumours about this device but we’ll only know for sure once the Korean manufacturer makes official announcements. With less than two weeks till the release event, earlier today Samsung released two teaser videos for Galaxy S III. They even take a swing at Apple and it’s iPhone in one of the videos.
Samsung has very strategically chosen London as the venue of Galaxy S III release event. This city is also host to the 2012 Olympics, which means that it is highly likely for this device to become the official smartphone of the Olympics. It has already been reported that Samsung wants Galaxy S III release to be of Olympic proportions. By unveiling this device in London and running subsequent promotional campaigns, Samsung could very well entice thousands of people to switch over from their current smartphones to the Android powered Galaxy S III.
Don’t expect to find the finer details of this device in these two short teaser videos. Those are secrets Samsung is keeping very close to it’s chest. These teasers are animations of beautiful galaxies, journeying through which the company states that it’s latest smartphone will become a natural side of life. Samsung also takes a swing at the iPhone. In one of these videos, the company states that their new smartphone will help people stay apart from the rest, at that exact moment a herd of sheep is shown. It’s not hard to decipher the meaning behind this frame, considering how Apple has sold millions of iPhones globally and almost everyone possesses one.

Yesterday the pre-order product page for Samsung Galaxy S III went online on Amazon Germany. The page revealed several details about the smartphone such as the fact that it’s going to have a 12 megapixel back camera, a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display and 16GB internal storage. For the SIM free unlocked version, the page listed the price as €599. At this point in time, it is not known when Samsung will actually start shipping this device. For all we know, the shipping schedule may be phased and might start with Korea, the country to which this company belongs.
