Photographer Jerry Kirkhart uses Photographer friend Cheryl Strahl www.flickr.com/photos/cheryl_strahl/ as his tripod, seen participating here, at Scott Kelby’s 3rd Annual Worldwide Photo Walk – 24 July 2010, hosted in Morro Bay, CA by Howard Ignatius www.flickr.com/groups/morrobayphotowalk/ .

Photo by “Mike” Michael L. Baird, mike [at} mikebaird d o t com, flickr.bairdphotos.com; Shooting a Canon EOS 1D Mark III 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L II IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras, handheld, circular polarizer.

"A photo taken but not shared might just as well have never been taken."

Tech note: Shot wide-open at f/2.8 to get some background blur and put focus on the subject, in this case Cheryl in the front, with Jerry intentionally blurred a bit. Always try to focus on the person’s eyes.

…need I say more?

The title is from my dad, mocking me going outside and taking tons of pictures a few hours after I got it, obviously taken from A Christmas Story "You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!" :-p

There are notes :)

I also got a full size tripod, but couldn’t fit that in the picture, as well as a soft carrying case for my camera, but it’s not really in the picture- just in the far corner.

Santa freaking rocks! :-p
