Finally Japan based Fujitsu have a new and interesting laptop in the shape of the Lifebook SH76 G, it falls right into the ultrabook section of the market as it comes with a small and light solid state drive instead of the big and bulky hard drive.
The problem with this machine is that in the rush to show it off in Japan, Fujitsu have left out some of the main features such as weight, size and the whole list of features that consumers are bound to be looking for in a new computer. However, it is still set to go on sale during February, when at least we will be able to see exactly what this new ultrabook has to offer.
But until then we shall have to make do with the features and specifications that already know, the Lifebook SH76 G comes with a 13.3 inch high definition display with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and despite being slim it still has a built in web camera.
Fujitsu have gone for the 2.50 GHz Intel Core i5-2450M processor to power this laptop and the graphics are provided through the Intel HM65 Express Chipset, which should provide clear and crisp video.
When it comes to memory the Lifebook SH76 G has up to 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and the nice sized 128 GB SSD. As for networking there is built in Wi-Fi and WiMAX, but there is no mention of Bluetooth being installed.
Other features include a DVD Super Multi Drive, an multi SD card slot, there is a fingerprint sensor for the security conscious, a superfast USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port for connecting to larger displays and it will be running on Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (SP1) operating system.
It seems that the Lifebook SH76 G offers a good all round set of features and according to the manufacturer it will be going on sale from around the 9th February at about $2,215.
