It was a couple of weeks when we first spoke about the new series five ultra book laptops from Samsung, they had been launched in Korea with price tags of $1300 for the 13.3 inch version and $1350 for the 14 inch version, naturally we would expect the price to be lower for US and for a moment they were!
Checking around the internet a pre-order page for series five appeared on a certain popular online retail store with a price of $900 for the 13.3 inch model and $950 for the 14 incher with built in DVD burner. However, within a short time, the pages had disappeared and any link to these will just take you onto the main ultra book page.
So for any consumer who has been waiting for the release of these cool looking series five the wait goes on it would seem, although they do sort of know what the starting prices of the slim and light ultra books are going to be set at now, sort of!
As of yet Samsung have not actually released any details on the series five prices or when they are likely to become freely available, but with the CES 2012 in Las Vegas just around the corner, surely this has to be the launch pad for these ultra books.
Just to refresh you on what these laptops have to offer, here are some of the known specs;

USB, Ethernet, VGA & HDMI ports

1 TB hard disk drive (HDD) and a 16 GB solid state drive (SSD)
Optical disc drive
Discrete AMD Radeon high definition 7550M graphics card
USB, Ethernet, VGA and HDMI ports
Wi-Fi
Integrated web camera
Weighs 1.8 kg and is just 20.9 mm thick
