Lenovo have come out with a whole range of computers including a pair of netbooks, the IdeaPad S200 and S206. However, they are not expected to be going on sale until June, which is a bit strange and something of a disappointment for buyers will be the four hour battery life and the choice of processors.
This takes us nicely to main differences between the two netbooks, which is that the IdeaPad S200 is powered by an Intel Atom N2800 Cedar Trail dual core processor and the IdeaPad S206 uses the AMD C60 dual core processor.
Both versions of the netbook feature the following specifications; such as the 11.6 inch LED back lit display with a built in 0.3 mega pixel web camera.
There is a useable 2 GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard disk drive (HDD) with speeds up to 7,200 RPM, although the Intel powered version can choose 32 GB of solid state drive (SSD) of storage. Connectivity is covered by the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, HDMI output, and a SD, MMC card reader. While networking is provided by the 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connection.
These netbooks come with a disappointing two cell battery that offers only enough power for up to four hours. Size wise these are 0.81 inch thick and they weigh in at manageable 1.3 Kg. finally there is a choice of colour from; Cotton-candy Pink, Crimson Red, Electric Blue, Graphite Grey and Pearl White.
According to Peter Hortensius, who is the senior vice president, for Product Group at Lenovo, he said in the company press release;
“Our new lineup of consumer laptops and desktops for 2012 reflects our commitment to deliver bold products that set the standard for innovation and style in consumer technology,”
“But as technically innovative as these products are, we are more than ever focused on fun. With improved sound and entertainment capabilities on the inside and unexpected candy-colors on the outside, we believe that these new consumer devices will help deliver the complete computing experience that individual customers are seeking.”
These all new IdeaPad S Series laptops will be available from around June this year and prices will start from $350.
