The Very Flexible Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga

The Very Flexible Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga:

Lenovo are introducing a new concept to the world of ultrabooks, it is called the IdeaPad Yoga for good reason, because this is a laptop that can get into all sorts of different positions, from standard laptop to tablet and a few in between too.

It is sort of similar to IdeaPad U300s and it also comes with that nice leather palm rest from the IdeaPad U260. It also offers the user a comfortable to use chiclet keyboard that disappointingly is not back lit and there is large useful ClickPad.

The IdeaPad Yoga is not going to be available until the later part of the year, so the specs that we currently know could change but from what we do know this is a very interesting idea that tackles a couple of important markets at the same time.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga has a thirteen inch edge to edge glass display with a 1,600 x 900 of pixel native resolution, it also uses a ten point capacitive touch input and it would not be complete without a built in web camera too.

It is powered by the Intel Ivy Bridge Core i-series processors, which means that it probably starts with the i3 and buyer wanting the faster i5 and i7 processor will have to pay extra. It has a memory of up to 8 GB of RAM and there is a massive 256 GB of solid state drive (SSD) storage.

Clearly this has been designed to work with Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system, so that means that it will only be available at the time of the launch of Microsoft operating system, which should be in around six months time.

According to Lenovo, this laptop tablet device should be offering up to hours of battery life, but how that works in the real world is anyone’s guess. This is basically an ultrabook convertible tablet, which means that it should be thin and light, and at around 17 mm (.6 inches) thick and weighing in at around three pounds, it is that!

When the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga eventually does hit the retail outlets, it is expected to be priced at around $1,200.
