Honda Integra: the meeting point between scooters and motorcycles

Honda Integra: the meeting point between scooters and motorcycles:

Honda Integra

Scooter or motorcycle? This may not be the problem. The ambitious attempt to offer a product with a new philosophy, able to transcend the traditional concept of scooters, Honda and is branded under the skin hides an architecture very similar to that of motorcycles “true”.

Integra – the name of the last creature of the Japanese – as already indicated their intention to combine the convenience of a scooter with the dynamic performance of a motorcycle. Hence the wide seat with his feet in the forward position, the body protective sheltering from the weather, internal storage compartments and automatic transmission. Facts that make practical everyday use and nice, that join technical components that could easily come from a touring bike segment.

The engine, totally new, is a 670-cc two-cylinder in-line and is rigidly mounted within the steel trellis frame, in turn coupled to the suspension and wheels with the scooter does not have anything to do front fork 42 mm from behind a real swingarm with Pro-Link single shock, and 17-inch alloy wheels with 120/70 and 160/60 tires.

And then there’s the transmission, which is so automatic, CVT, but does not: it is a DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission (such as the VFR 1200) six-speed gearbox, which has two operating modes, can be operated manually in the sporty and is connected to the rear wheel via a chain final.

The performance? Should be quite good: the Integra weighs 238 kg in running order, but almost 52 hp and above all, a peak torque of 62 Nm at just 4,750 rpm.

Seat to 79 inches off the ground, declared distances up to 27 km with one liter and integral braking system with ABS. To know how it integrates the road stay tuned, we will post a preview of the test in the coming days.
